Weather the Weather

Victoria is located on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. It is a beautiful rainforest island with a very wet eco system. Naturally, we are a very stormy environment. It is a part of what makes us lush and vibrant but unlike Miami, we are further north...

Our weather, though usually sunny can range from wet and wild to sunny and still. As such, we want our guests to be prepared for battle on all fronts. Our top of the line vessel will keep you comfortable while we are on the hunt, but when a fish is on the line it's all you and mother nature!

Fishing is done outside the cover of our vessel and it will be you against the elements. Whether it's sizzling sunshine, rain or wind being prepared on the ocean is important. Of course, fishing is usually a leisure sport but the weather can change quickly on the ocean, making the difference between the fight of your life and reeling in a few with the boys. As such, we have provided a list of useful equipment recommendations for YOU to bring with you.

We promise to keep you alive and safe but the quality of your personal comfort remains with you.

Fishing Equipment

When dressing for a fishing charter, comfort and practicality are key!

Here's a list of 6 recommended categories:

1.)

Sun Protection

**Hat:** Wide-brimmed or baseball cap. - **Sunglasses:** Polarized to reduce glare. - **Long-sleeve Shirt:** Lightweight, breathable, and moisture-wicking with UPF protection. - **Buff or Neck Gaiter:** To protect your neck and face from the sun.

2.)

Layers

**T-shirt or Tank Top:** As a base layer. - **Light Jacket or Hoodie:** For cooler mornings or evenings, ideally water-resistant.

3.)

Bottoms

**Shorts or Lightweight Pants:** Quick-drying materials are best. Convertible pants that can turn into shorts are also a good option.

4.)

Footwear

**Non-slip Shoes or Sandals:** Waterproof and with good grip to prevent slipping on the boat.

5.)

Rain Gear

**Rain Jacket:** Lightweight and packable in case of unexpected weather.

6.)

Accessories

**Fishing Gloves:** To protect your hands. - **Sunscreen:** High SPF, water-resistant. - **Bug Spray:** Especially important in certain locations. These items will ensure you're prepared for various weather conditions and the physical demands of fishing.
